Answers about DC-Air®
Product-Specific Questions
What makes DC-Air® unique compared to traditional sensors?
DC-Air® is a completely wireless intraoral sensor that uses direct-conversion technology. It removes the cable and image-degrading intermediate layers while improving ergonomics and patient comfort.
Is image resolution better than other sensors on the market?
DC-Air® uses a 26µm pixel size and leading MTF values at diagnostic spatial frequencies, supporting image accuracy, fewer retakes and confident diagnoses.
Can I capture anterior and posterior teeth with the same sensor?
Yes. DC-Air® is engineered for all regions of the mouth. Its Zero Profile® holder system supports transitions across anterior, posterior, bitewing and endodontic imaging.
Integration & Compatibility
Will it work with my practice management or imaging software?
DC-Air® is TWAIN-compliant and compatible with many platforms including Dentrix, Eaglesoft and Open Dental. FTG can confirm compatibility for your software version and configuration.
What are the physical setup requirements?
An FTG representative guides onboarding. The receiver connects to the computer by USB, with the docking station placed nearby. The sensor communicates through Bluetooth® Low Energy.
Clinical & Diagnostic Use
How quickly do images appear on screen?
Images appear within seconds to maintain a smooth clinical workflow.
Is it suitable for pediatric or anxious patients?
The slim profile and Zero Profile® holder system are designed to reduce bulk and improve comfort for older children, geriatric patients and people with a sensitive gag reflex.
What if the sensor gets wet or dropped?
DC-Air® is IP67-rated for dust and water resistance and uses homogenous silicon construction for daily-use durability.
Business & Support
What’s included in the warranty?
